A treatment method in which a flame is used to remove the oxygen from a glass cup. This forms a suction when applied to the body, most commonly the back. It can be used to open the channels, break up adhesions and promote the circulation of Qi and blood through the meridians (acupuncture channels). Slide cupping is the moving of the cup up and down the channels using a medium such as coconut oil. Stationary cupping involves placing a cup over a specific point to bring Qi and blood to that specific area of the body. Cupping is great for any kind of muscular ache/pain/stiffness but can be used for a variety of ailments including asthma, sciatica, depression, etc.
